The Luther Trail is a joint project of churches, tourism associations, local authorities and other organisations. It runs for over 2,000 kilometres through Bavaria, Brandenburg, Hesse, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saxony, Saxony-Anhalt and Thuringia. The Luther Trail invites pilgrims, hikers and tourists to experience authentic Luther sites and historical sites of the Reformation in small and large towns as well as the diverse and impressive nature along the way. The Luther Trail was launched in Saxony-Anhalt in 2008.
Representatives of Protestant regional churches, politics, tourism and hiking associations, business and education as well as individuals work together in the German Luther Trail Association with the aim of networking activities and stations along the Luther Trail.
